This is a private, non-commercial project. Nothing on this site is sold and no payment is taken.

Privacy

This site sets no cookies, loads nothing from third-party servers and runs no analytics. The icon font and every image are served from this domain, which means no request of yours reaches anyone else while you read this.

The web server keeps the usual access log — IP address, time, requested path, user agent — to operate the service and spot abuse. Those entries are deleted after [number] days. Legal basis: legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Two links leave this site, and those hosts see a request the moment you follow one: the source repository at gitlab.dergeorg.at and the upstream project xow on GitHub.

The app itself is separate from this site. On first launch it downloads the adapter firmware from Microsoft, which means Microsoft sees that request. That is the only network connection GamepadBridge makes, and it happens once.

Licence

GamepadBridge is published under GPL-2.0-or-later. It is derived from xow by Medusalix, whose reverse-engineering of the adapter protocol made the whole thing possible. The full licence text and attribution notice ship with the source.

The adapter firmware is Microsoft's, is not part of the project and is subject to the Microsoft Terms of Use. It is never redistributed — the app fetches it from Microsoft directly.
